Make Your Move to a Greenville Student Apartment as Easy as Possible

Sometimes, you might find that it’s easier to live off the college campus than it is to live in a dorm. From more space to move around to more privacy to do what you want, there are several benefits of living off campus. If you’re ready to take this leap, there are a few tips to keep in mind to make your move as successful as possible.

What Can You Afford?

When you think about ECU off-campus housing, avoid looking at only your rent and basic utilities. You also need to consider gas for your vehicle, your car payment and insurance, activities that you enjoy and shopping for necessities during the month. If you’re not sure about how to pay for everything, consider taking a financial planning class. You can also find a roommate or two to share the expenses.

Dining

One of the things to think about when moving to ECU off-campus housing is what you’re going to do for meals. You can usually purchase a meal plan so that you can get a few meals on campus. However, since you have an apartment, you’ll have the space and amenities to prepare your own meals. This can sometimes result in saving money while eating nutritious meals at the same time.

Neighbors

Once you’re settled into your new home, consider introducing yourself to your neighbors. Let them know if you have pets or if you might stay up late at night. If you feel comfortable, provide your phone number so that they can talk to you about any issues that might arise before going to management.
